Grants of up to £7000 are available towards the costs of all short film or documentary productions. All winners are automatically eligible for consideration for the 2025 Raindance film festival!

Ten short films from emerging Irish filmmakers selected for Screen Ireland’s Focus Shorts 2024
Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland recently announced the 10 successful projects for the 2024 round of Focus Shorts, Screen Ireland’s flagship short film scheme. Ten teams of emerging directors, screenwriters and producers have been awarded €70,000 per project to produce a short film.
Focus Shorts is a short film production scheme that highlights strong and original storytelling, visual flair, and production values appropriate to the big screen.
Three original animated short films have been selected for Frameworks 2024, Screen Ireland and RTÉ’s short film scheme.
Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland announced the successful teams of the 2024 edition of its Frameworks animated short film scheme, co-funded with RTÉ.
Frameworks is a flagship scheme for the Irish animation sector, now in its 29th edition. The scheme has produced short films that have gone on to major international success, including Academy Award nominations and World Premieres at major film festivals like Tribeca, Annecy and Sundance.
A new short film from celebrated Galway based company, Heavy Man Films, has just premiered online.
Entitled ‘Cancer Vixen – The Orlagh Winters Story’ the film, made in conjunction with the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, tells the very personal breast cancer story of Orlagh Winters, who takes the audience on a powerful journey giving an up-close look at the challenges she faced while showcasing her resilience, humour and hope.
Viewers are given powerful insights into living with a breast cancer diagnosis and how important research is in improving outcomes.
